The department of Commerce was established during 1979-80 with an Undergraduate Programme B.Com (General) with an initial intake of 30 students and later on during 2001 another Restructured course B.Com (computers) was started with an initial intake of 30 students. The third programme B.Com (Financial Services, Banking, and Insurance & Exim Trade) is started during 2017-18 with an initial intake of 30 students. The Present intake of the three programmes offered by the department is B.Com (General) 60, B.Com (computers) 60 and B.Com (F S B I and Exim Trade) 30 students. The department is catering commerce education to approximately 410 women students. The department offered Post Graduate Programme in Commerce (M.Com) commencing from 2004-2005 to 2010-11.

To impart knowledge in the field of Accounting and Business Management and to equip the students with a set of employability skills, entrepreneurial skills, business ethics and life skills.
