1. The Department of Economics was established on 07/01/1942 with UG programmes and on 05/08/2002 PG programmes.
2. Economics was started in order to provide high quality education for women students and to explore the recent advances and innovative teaching, learning members for the effective teaching.
3. The department designs the curriculum to foster the skills necessary for career development and lifelong learning in a rapidly changing global environment.
4. As learning Economics helps students doing some activities are incorporated to increase students in participating actively.
5. The institution has introduced innovative changes in the curriculum under choice based credit system with the motive of preparing the students to cope with the competitive world.




VISION


B.A. with Economics offers a three- year inter disciplinary programme that provides students think specially about the economic issues. Economics through traditional lectures, group discussions, individual research projects, student seminars and invited guest lecturers for the students are made mandatory for the overall knowledge and skills development.

MISSION


To give information related to Indian Economy, International Trade and planning system. To teach economic branches and cultivating knowledge about Indian and rest of the world Economists and their philosophies. To provide curriculum that promote critical thinking skills and enhance decision making abilities which help students to become productive and informed citizens.
