Biography

Dr. D. Dhatri Kumari has been an integral part of the academic field of Telugu language and literature since 2002. She was awarded her Ph.D. from the Oriental Research Institute, Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, in 2019, with her thesis titled "Telugu Kavitwamlo Manava Hakkulu - Oka Pariseelana". She received her M.A in Telugu Language & Literature from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, in 2004, obtained a B.Ed. from Sri Padmavati Mahila Visva Vidyalayam, Tirupati in 2001, and a B.A (Special Telugu) from D.S. Government Degree College for Women, Ongole in 1999. She qualified in UGC NET in 2008.

Her career in education began as a School Assistant in Telugu from 2002 to 2011 at ZPHS in Umamaheswarapuram and ZPHS in Karumanchi, Prakasam District. Subsequently, she was appointed as a Lecturer in Telugu through the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission's direct recruitment for Lecturers in Government Degree Colleges under the A.P. Collegiate Education Service in December 2011. She started her lecturing career at D.S. Government Degree College for Women in Ongole, an institution of significance as it is where she obtained her B.A. degree. Following her service in Ongole from 2011 to 2017, Dr. D. Dhatri Kumari transferred to Y.A. Government College for Women in Chirala, serving from 2017 to 2021. Presently, since September 2021, she is working as Lecturer in Telugu at the Government College for Women (Autonomous) in Guntur.

In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dr. D. Dhatri Kumari has actively contributed to student development in various roles. She served as the Women Empowerment Cell Convener from 2017 to 2021, has been the NSS Programme Officer since 2021, and Cultural Committee Convener from the academic year 2022-23.

Her scholarly work comprises one published book, nine book chapters, three book reviews, and nine eight research articles, Co-convener - one International Conference, Convener one State Level Webinar. She has actively engaged with the academic community, participating in nine International Conferences, nine National seminars, seven State Level Conferences, 12 FDPs and various workshops and symposiums.

She also served as a Prucchakuralu (Resource Person) on "Dattapadi" in the first-ever International Virtual Sathavadhanam across 21 countries, an event inaugurated by the Honorable Vice President of India, Shri. M. Venkaiah Naidu, in 2020.

Her contributions extend to academic and professional organizations, where she has served in capacities such as State Level Telugu LMS Subject Expert Committee Member (since the 2023-24 academic year), Coordinator for the Nodal Resource Centre (Guntur Cluster) during the 2022-23 academic year, Subject Expert Committee Member in the Board of Studies at JKC College, Guntur (since 2021), and State Level Question Bank Expert Committee Member from 2020 to 2022.

Dr. D. Dhatri Kumari's professional affiliations include her role as the Guntur District Secretary of Navyaandhra Rachayitrula Samgham and her long-standing position as an editorial board member of the International Journal of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Education since 2014.

She has been honoured with awards such as the “Prathibha Puraskaaram” in 2024 and the “Aaatmeeya Satkaaram” in 2023 for her literary and academic endeavors.

• Organized the Telugu Online International Seminar titled “Jaateeyodyamam – Anubhavaalu, Jnaapakaalu, Saahityam” on August 10 and 11, 2022, as a Co-Convener. Following the event, 63 research papers were published in a special edition of the UGC Care listed journal MUSI, where I served as an Editorial Board Member.
• Organized a State-Level Online Webinar titled "Importance of Breast Feeding" as part of the World Breast Feeding Week Celebrations 2021, which was held from August 1st to 7th. The event took place on August 6th, 2021, and was hosted by Y.A. Government College for Women in Chirala, Prakasam District. The webinar featured Chief Guest Dr. G. Vani, an M.D. in Pediatrics and Medical Officer at SDSC, SHAR, Sriharikota.
