Biography

Santosh Kumari, Head of the Department of Botany at Government College for Women (A) , Guntur, was recruited through Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) as JL in 2002 and promoted as Degree lecturer in 2013 with 22 years of experience in teaching Botany. She is an esteemed educator and researcher, dedicated over two decades to the field of Botany with an indelible mark on botanical education. Her commitment to academic excellence is underscored by her significant contributions. She has not only excelled in teaching, with expertise in Botany and Environmental Science but has also contributed profoundly to the scholarly landscape. Her research endeavors have led to the publication of insightful papers and chapters in prestigious international publications, shedding light on the phytochemistry and pharmacological properties of medicinal plants. Notably, her efforts have been recognized through various awards and appreciations, including a Gold Medal and Award as the State's Best Nodal Officer for Youth Red Cross and Amritam National Sustainability Award from the Aurobindo Trust. She has also been appointed as a Prakasam District Sustainability Mentor by MGNCRE, Ministry of Education. Santosh Kumari's multifaceted contributions, spanning teaching, research, and administrative roles, reflect her unwavering dedication to botanical sciences and educational advancement. As the HOD, Youth Red Cross Coordinator, and NSS Programme Officer, she has continually encouraged students, fostering their achievements in studies, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities at district, state, and national levels.
